What is an acupuncture treatment like?
We use extremely fine, hair-thin needles that are pre-sterilized and disposable with strict clean needle technique procedures. There are almost no side effects.
Contrary to many beliefs, there is almost NO PAIN when needles are inserted (except a few spots) as our needles are 1/20th in diameter compared with injection needles. We place needles at specific points on the energetic pathways leading to the organs, muscles and nerves of the body. These specific points are selected based on the patient’s symptoms.
We use Korean needle techniques, using only 4 needles most of the time. Most points are located below the elbows and knees. Results can be better using only distal points. All masters in general use just a few points.
The concept of 4 needle techniques is to tonify or sedate related organs’ function. Using two needles for tonification and another two for sedation balance each other.
Most important organs in the body are protected by 12 strong ribs. These organs are the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and spleen. There are another organs pairing with the above organs in the abdominal area.
How do we diagnose and treat patients?
Procedures are fairly similar to Western medicine. The main differences are pulse taking on wrist and tongue diagnosis instead of listening to a stethoscope. X-ray, MRI or other tests are not necessary for diagnosis. Some tests are harmful to the human body and are expensive.
The Oriental method is very safe for the human body, as we do not use any harmful equipment. Costs are much less than western methods. It is common sense to get treatment as early as possible before the disease reaches a deeper level. The best way is to prevent any disease before it starts. Don’t you agree?
